The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Adeleke has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr. Amos Adepoju, the Asiwaju of Igboora and father of the Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju.
Dr. Amos Adepoju, a highly revered community leader and passionate advocate of human capital development breathed his last on Thursday, 28th August 2025 at the ripe age of 89.
His death marks the end of an era for Igboora and the entire Ibarapa land as he was a shining example of dedication, service and humility.
In his condolences message signed,Hon. Olusola Adeleke described the late icon as “a legend who carried the burdens of his people with grace and commitment, serving Igboora selflessly from his youthful days until his final breath.
” He noted that the invaluable contributions of Dr. Adepoju to community growth, youth development and peaceful coexistence will remain indelible in the hearts of all.
While commiserating with Hon. Anthony Adepoju and the Adepoju family, the Executive Chairman prayed for the repose of the departed soul and urged the family to take solace in the impactful and fulfilled life he lived, leaving behind a rich legacy of service to humanity.
“On behalf of the government and people of Ibarapa Central Local Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Adepoju family, the people of Igboora and the entire Ibarapa land.
May the Almighty grant the family the strength to bear this great loss and may Baba’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the Chairman added.
