‎In a bid to strengthen democratic participation ahead of the 2027 general elections, an aspirant for the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ogunsola John Olusina, has taken proactive steps to ease the burden of voter registration for his constituents.
‎
‎Hon. Ogunsola, popularly known as Otunba John Olusina, announced the provision of free buses and refreshments to residents of Oluyole Local Government who wish to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
‎
‎The initiative, which commenced on Monday, 25th August 2025, is targeted at mobilizing eligible voters within the constituency to ensure no one is disenfranchised due to transportation or logistic challenges.
‎
‎According to the arrangement, PDP electorates in Idi Ayunre and Akorede sectors have been assigned specific pick-up points where they can conveniently join the buses to and from INEC registration centers.
‎
‎For Idi Ayunre Sector, buses will pick up passengers at:
‎
‎1. Abbey Technical
‎
‎
‎2. Odo Ona Kekere, Arapaja Junction
‎
‎
‎3. Aba Nla Ikija Junction
‎
‎
‎4. Oni Ganbari in front of School
‎
‎
‎5. In front of New Garage Registry
‎
‎
‎
‎For Akorede Sector, pick-up points include:
‎
‎1. Muslim at Filling Station
‎
‎
‎2. Olomi in front of Honourable Lasun’s House
‎
‎
‎3. Ayegun Olomi in front of Secondary School
‎
‎
‎4. Soka at Filling Station
‎
‎
‎
‎Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Ogunsola stressed that democracy thrives when citizens actively participate in the electoral process. He urged residents of Oluyole and Oyo State at large to take advantage of the opportunity and register ahead of the 2027 elections.
‎
‎ “This is not just about politics; it is about strengthening democracy and ensuring that the voices of our people are heard in 2027. Every eligible voter must get registered because it is through the ballot that we can choose credible leaders,” he said.
‎
‎
‎
‎The gesture has been widely commended as a demonstration of grassroots commitment and people-oriented leadership, with many describing it as a timely intervention that will boost voter turnout in the constituency.
