The Oyo State government will not relent in its commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners alike.

The Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makide gave the assurance during the inauguration and swearing in of the new executive members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo State chapter held at the union’s office, Challenge, Ibadan.
Governor Makinde who was represented at the event by the Chairman of Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ige stated that “in addition to the timely payment of August salaries, all pensioners in the state would also receive their pensions on the same day as usual. Apart from this, my administration has also approved the release of #2 billion for the settlement of gratuities and death benefits to another batch of pensioners.”

While congratulating the President of the union, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun on his re-election and other executive members for what he described as “the best election and inauguration process so far”, Gov. Makinde, however, admonished the newly inaugurated executives to work in unison for the welfare of their members on the one part and overall development of the state especially at the grassroot level on the other part.


Earlier in his address, the re-elected President of the union also doubled as the NLC Auditor, Com. Ayobami Adeogun promised that the executive will not disappoint in their mission to safeguard the welfare, rights and dignity of all local government employees across the state.
He expressed deep appreciation to members for their trust and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him.
The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by some national officers of the union.

Members of the executive inaugurated were Com. Ademola Azeez (Gaji) as State Auditor 1 and Com. Kafayat Atilola as State Women Leader among others.
