In a bid to equip youths with practical skills that can enhance their economic prospects, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande, has organized a training program on the production of dishwashing liquid soap. The training, which was held in United Missionary School, Molete, aimed to empower young people with skills that can help them become self-reliant and improve their lives.

The training program was designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in the production of dishwashing liquid soap, from raw material sourcing to the final product. The trainees were taught how to formulate and mix the ingredients, package, and market the product. The training also covered basic business management skills, including pricing, costing, and entrepreneurship.

According to Hon. Akande, the training program is part of his administration’s efforts to promote youth empowerment and economic development in the local government area. He noted that the program is designed to provide young people with practical skills that can help them become self-employed and contribute to the economic growth of the area.

The trainees, who were basically students in their final class drawn from different parts of the local government area, expressed gratitude to Hon. Akande for providing them with the opportunity to acquire new skills. They noted that the training would help them to become more confident and self-reliant, and enable them to contribute to the economic development of their communities.

One of the trainees, Ayinde Kafilat , said, “I am grateful to Hon. Kehinde Akande for this opportunity. I have learned a lot from the training, and I am confident that I can start my own production and make a living from it.”

As the trainees begin to apply their new skills, it is expected that they will become more confident and self-reliant, contributing to the overall development of the local government area. Hon. Akande’s leadership has been praised for its commitment to empowering youths and promoting economic development in the area.

The success of the training program has also sparked hopes that more initiatives like this will be implemented in the future, providing more opportunities for young people to acquire skills and become self-reliant. With Hon. Akande’s administration at the helm, it is expected that the local government area will continue to benefit from innovative programs and initiatives that promote youth empowerment and economic development.
