Bye-election Victory: Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple Congratulates DON As He Receives Certificate Of Return, Appreciates Gov. Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, PDP Leaders, And The People Of Ibadan North

The Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has joined well-meaning Oyo state PDP family to congratulate Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don on his emphatic victory and official receipt of the Certificate of Return in Abuja following the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Hon. Simple described Hon. Don’s victory, secured with a commanding 18,404 votes against his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy, who polled 8,312 votes, as “a clear testament to the will of the people, the strength of the PDP family, and the power of unity and purposeful leadership.”

In his goodwill message, the Egbeda vice chairman expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for his visionary and transformational leadership which, according to him, created the enabling environment for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to record such a historic victory.

He further extolled the political sagacity of Otunba Seye Famojuro, whom he described as “a strong pillar, leader, and backbone whose influence and commitment to the PDP remain unshakable.”

Hon. Simple equally extended his gratitude to the executive chairman of ibadan North Local Government, hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, PDP leaders across the board, including Federal Lawmakers from Oyo State, members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, commissioners, political appointees, Party secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, the entire party executives at state level and local government levels, whose collective efforts, he said, played a vital role in reclaiming the mandate for Ibadan North.

The Egbeda vice chairman paid glowing tribute to the Campaign Committee chaired by Hon. Demola Omotoso, acknowledging their coordination and sacrifices as the driving force behind the PDP’s resounding success.

He also reserved special appreciation for the electorate, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, artisans, students, market men and women, non-indigenes, and the entire people of Ibadan North, for their overwhelming support and loud statement at the polls.

“This victory is not just for Hon. Oyekunle Don and the PDP; it is for every son and daughter of Ibadan North who yearns for development, good governance, and progress,” Hon. Simple stated.

He concluded by urging Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don to remain humble, focused, and people-centered in his legislative duties at the National Assembly, assuring him of his unflinching support and that of the wider PDP family.

“This triumph is a fresh dawn for Ibadan North and indeed for Oyo State. I am confident that Hon. Don will serve with renewed zeal, humility, and commitment to the people,” Hon. Simple affirmed.
