Ambassador Abdulsabur Abiola Olawore, a well respected Ibadan Mogaji and representative of the United Nations International Human Rights Commission (IHRC), has congratulated the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Hon. Fólajimi Oyekunle (popularly known as Don), on their victory in the just concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-election.

In a statement issued shortly after the declaration of results, Ambassador Olawore described the victory as well-deserved, praising Hon. Oyekunle for earning the trust and mandate of the people.
He also commended the leadership of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, noting that his style of governance and contributions to grassroots development played a pivotal role in the PDP’s landslide win.

According to official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Hon. Oyekunle of the PDP polled 18,404 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Adewale Olatunji (popularly known as Murphy) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 8,312 votes.

Ambassador Olawore emphasized that the outcome of the election reflects the people’s overwhelming support for Governor Makinde and the PDP-led administration in Oyo State.
“This victory demonstrates the people’s confidence in Governor Makinde’s progressive leadership and the collective will of Ibadan North residents to continue enjoying purposeful governance,” he said.
He urged Hon. Oyekunle to justify the confidence reposed in him by delivering on his campaign promises and prioritizing the welfare of his constituents.
