Ibarapakan Urges Ibadan North Residents to Vote for Oyekunle in Upcoming Bye-Election

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has urged the good people of Ibadan North to support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, in the forthcoming bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

Speaking at Wards 9, 11 and 12 in Ibadan North Local Government Area on Saturday, August 8, 2025, Hon. Adepoju enjoined the residents of the local government council to consider the good work of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in Oyo State and support the candidate of the party in the bye-election slated for August 16, 2025.

In a show of support, the lawmaker had previously joined members of the PDP at Ward 7 on Thursday, canvassing votes for the party’s candidate.

The federal lawmaker reposed his confidence in the leadership capacity of Hon. Oyekunle, who, he said, contributed immensely to the success of Governor Makinde-led administration while serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the state.

Drumming up support for the candidate of the PDP, Hon. Adepoju prayed that Hon. Oyekunle would be the representative of the good and hardworking people of Ibadan North when the National Assembly of Nigeria resumes from its recess in September this year.

The Ibarapa-born politician emphasised that the only way to reciprocate the good work of Gov. Makinde, both in infrastructure and human capital development in Oyo State, is to come out en masse to vote for Hon. Folajimi, whom he said had shown humility and attributes of a good leader in all ramifications of life.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character also enjoined political actors participating in the bye-election to eschew violence before, during and after the election.
