The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Ambassador Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, has flagged off the distribution of agricultural inputs and assets to farmers in the local government area.


This initiative is part of the state government’s project to make farming easier and more productive for farmers, with the ultimate goal of eradicating hunger in Oyo State under the leadership of Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde.
In his keynote address, Honourable Kehinde Adeyemi Akande commended Governor Makinde for his commitment to the welfare of the citizens.

He also appealed for more of such initiatives, noting that farmers in Ibadan South West Local Government are deeply grateful to the governor.


Akande further revealed that the local government has 100 acres of land available for rent to individuals interested in taking up farming as a profession.

The Executive Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Director-General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande, praised Governor Makinde for the strategic plan to support farmers.
He emphasized that agricultural transformation cannot be achieved without the involvement of rural areas and urged farmers to use the distributed products judiciously.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Councillor Kayode Olayiwola, Head of Local Government Administration Alhaja Salau Olatoyosi, Director of Agriculture Mr. Kayode Akande, Baale of Odo-Ona Bale Mojeed Tojo, and Baale Aagbe, among others.
