The Honourable Member representing Ido State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) by transforming a routine stakeholders’ meeting into a celebration of unity and party loyalty.

At the meeting held in Ido Local Government, Hon. Mabaje stunned party members with a generous donation of ₦2 million, igniting enthusiasm among party leaders, executives, and grassroots members. The atmosphere quickly shifted from formal to festive as attendees cheered his act of goodwill and dedication.

In his address, Hon. Mabaje called on party faithful to remain steadfast and prioritize the collective interest of the PDP above personal ambitions. He underscored the unity among stakeholders in Ido Local Government, reaffirming their shared goal of promoting good governance and delivering democratic dividends to the people.

> “This gathering reflects our strength as a united force, committed to the progress of our people and our party. The supremacy of the party is not negotiable—we are one big family bound by love, unity, and strength,” Mabaje said.

He added,

> “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, and we have embarked on that journey toward peace and progress today. We must avoid any act that could rock the boat.”

Mabaje further praised the leadership of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing him as the face and unifying symbol of the PDP in the state.

> “It should be noted by all that it is only the PDP that has stood the test of time. Governor Seyi Makinde is the face of our party—where he goes, we go.”

PDP Remains Ido’s Stronghold

The meeting was chaired by the PDP Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Akinsola Olabamiji Ayuba, who recalled the historical strength of the PDP in Ido.

> “When PDP was strange to the South-West, Ido stood firm. In 1999, we won every seat—the chairmanship, state assembly, and House of Representatives elections—making us the only PDP stronghold in the region,” he proudly noted.

He applauded Hon. Mabaje and the Council Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, urging them to maintain unity and work in harmony for the continued progress of the party.
