The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, has congratulated renowned filmmaker and entrepreneur, Kunle Afolayan, on his recent recognition as Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year at the Governor’s Dinner and Tourism Awards Night.
The prestigious award was presented during the closing ceremony of the International Tourism Investment Summit (#ITSOyoState2025) held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In his congratulatory message, Wolekanle praised Afolayan, founder and CEO of KAP Film Village & Resort, for his outstanding contributions to the promotion of tourism, culture, and the creative economy in Nigeria and beyond.
“This award is a well-deserved recognition of your vision, creativity, and unwavering commitment to advancing tourism and cultural heritage through the creative industry.

He also commended the Oyo State Government for recognizing and celebrating trailblazers in the tourism sector, noting that such platforms encourage investment and foster sustainable development.
Wolekanle further reiterated his support for initiatives that promote local content, entrepreneurship, and tourism as viable tools for economic growth and youth empowerment in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
