Former Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Abdul-Rahman Raphael Afonja, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Ibironke Adefope, former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Zambia.
Afonja, in a statement on Sunday, described Adefope’s passing as a great loss to Oyo State, hailing her as an icon who left indelible marks.
He expressed his personal loss and urged the family to find strength in Adefope’s legacy.
The former commissioner prayed for God’s forgiveness and eternal peace for Adefope’s soul, saying, “May Almighty God forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus. May He comfort the family and all those grieving this tremendous loss.”
