Residents of Ido Local Government Area are now breathing a sigh of relief following the successful completion of a vital dredging project linking Ward 7 and Ward 8 to the Elenushonsho community.

The project, initiated and supervised by the Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, is aimed at improving water flow, mitigating flood risks, and enhancing the overall environmental condition of the area.
Local leaders and community stakeholders have commended the council chairman for the timely intervention.

The General Chairman of Elenushonsho Community, along with Mr. Babajide, Chairman of the Landlords Association, lauded the project, describing it as a significant step towards sustainable development in the area.

According to them, the dredging has already begun yielding results, including improved water quality, reduced incidents of waterborne diseases, and a general uplift in the living conditions of residents.

“This project is not just about clearing waterways,” said Mr. Babajide. “It is about safeguarding our homes, our health, and our environment. We deeply appreciate the chairman’s responsiveness to the needs of the people.”
Hon. Adeojo, who has been vocal about his commitment to grassroots development, reaffirmed his administration’s focus on infrastructure and environmental health. He emphasized that the dredging project is part of a broader agenda to ensure safer, healthier, and more resilient communities across the local government area.

As the rainy season approaches, residents express confidence that the intervention will prevent the perennial flooding that has plagued the area in previous years.
The project is seen as a landmark effort under Hon. Adeojo’s leadership and is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the lives of thousands within the affected wards.
