‎The Chairman, Nigeria Conference of Speakers, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, has called for urgent diversification of the nation’s economy.
‎
‎Honourable Ogundoyin made the call while featuring on a monitored televised programme in Ibadan.
‎
‎Honourable Ogundoyin, who is also the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, blamed Nigerian political structures for the multifaceted challenges bedeviling the nation.
‎
‎Honourable Ogundoyin also decried the self-serving nature of Nigeria’s political class and called for a new and more inclusive approach to governance.
‎
‎While lamenting Nigeria’s deepening crisis of governance, insecurity, and lack of ideological direction, the speaker suggested that States must be empowered to play critical roles in internal security.
‎
‎ Honourable Ogundoyin also condemned the federal government’s failure to publish the names of those allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
