In a remarkable display of grassroots impact and responsive governance, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, is set to commission a series of landmark projects and people-oriented programs as part of activities marking his one-year anniversary in office.

The week-long celebration, which spans from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18, 2025, is themed around gratitude, service delivery, empowerment, and community development.

The highlight of the celebration will be the commissioning of numerous completed projects across sectors, many of which will be unveiled by the First Lady of Oyo State, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde.

The anniversary kickoff features a live appearance by Hon. Akintayo on Fresh 105.9FM to speak directly to constituents, followed by a thanksgiving service at the Chapel.

In a show of compassion and support for education and transportation, the day will also witness the distribution of exercise books to students and the rollout of fuel palliatives for commercial motorcycle riders (Okada).

Tuesday will witness a major highlight of the anniversary as the Oyo State First Lady, Engr. Tamunominini Makinde, joins the council chairman to commission key community-enhancing projects. These include a Garri Processing Factory, a newly renovated Multipurpose Hall, and a modernized Marriage Registry. The day will also feature the distribution of empowerment items to support local traders and artisans.

Health and market access take center stage on Wednesday with the commissioning of the newly built Taiwo Alaka Primary Health Care Centre at Oja’gbo and the official opening of the ultramodern JONKU Market — both critical facilities aimed at improving healthcare delivery and boosting economic activity within the LG.

To bolster community safety, a newly constructed Operation Burst office will be commissioned at Adekile. This is part of the local government’s continuous commitment to security infrastructure and partnership with state security agencies.
