The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has been honoured with an Outstanding Leadership Award by the Ibadan Royal Highnesses and the Council of Baales of Ibadanland.
The prestigious recognition was presented on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Speaker’s office at the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Ibadan.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Oniladuntan of Laduntan, Oba Adebowale Kamorundeen Adeyemi JP described Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin as a young, dynamic leader who has brought innovation, dignity, and excellence to legislative governance in Oyo State and beyond.
He commended his rising political profile and outstanding service both as Speaker and as the current Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria.
“We are proud that our son is making the entire Yoruba land and indeed Nigeria proud through exceptional leadership. His passion for youth inclusion, institutional reform, and responsive lawmaking is worthy of emulation.”
In his response, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin expressed deep gratitude to the Ibadan Royal Highnesses and the Baales for the honour.
He described the award as a motivation to continue serving with integrity and vision.
“This award means so much to me, especially coming from our revered Royal Fathers and Baales of Ibadanland. I dedicate it to the people of Oyo State, my colleagues at the Assembly, and all who believe in the strength of youth leadership. I promise not to relent,” Ogundoyin said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing democratic ideals, legislative excellence, and fostering development across Oyo State.
The visit featured special prayers for the Speaker’s continued success and for peace, prosperity and development in Oyo State.
