Ibadan, Oyo State – In the heartfelt display of condolences, Chief Olufemi Olawale Junaid, Mogaji Jinadu Ileganga, Itutaba of Ibadan North East Local Government, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the Oyo State Governor, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Otun Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, Ibadan Mogajis’, and the people of Oyo State following the demise of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin Ige, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In his condolence message, Chief Olufemi Olawale Junaid described the late Olubadan as a unifying figure in Ibadanland, highlighting his pivotal role in fostering friendship and inclusivity within the community. He emphasized the late monarch’s remarkable humility and genuine warmth towards all individuals, regardless of their background or beliefs.

Chief Junaid noted that Oba Olakulehin’s passing has left a profound void in the hearts of many, with his legacy expected to endure through the institutions he supported and the people he touched. As the Ibadan community mourns, they take comfort in the memories of his life and reign.

The late Olubadan’s life was a testament to his dedication to public service and community leadership. Born on July 5, 1935, Oba Olakulehin rose through the ranks of the Olubadan-in-Council, serving in various capacities before ascending to the throne on July 12, 2024.

Chief Olufemi Junaid prayed for the repose of the late Olubadan’s soul and comfort for the royal family and the entire Ibadan community during this period of mourning.

The commiseration from Chief Olufemi Olawale Junaid is a reflection of the high esteem in which the late Olubadan was held by the people of Ibadanland. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Chief Olufemi Junaid’s tribute to the late Olubadan is a testament to the impact Oba Olakulehin had on the lives of those around him. The Ibadan community will remember him for his wisdom, leadership, and commitment to the well-being of his people.

Notably, Oba Olakulehin celebrated his 90th birthday on July 5, 2025, just two days before his passing, marking a long and eventful life.
