The Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has extended warm felicitations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, on the occasion of his 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his coronation.
In a heartfelt message, Hon. Kamorudeen described the Olubadan as a “beacon of unity and progress” for Ibadanland and the Yoruba nation at large. He lauded Oba Olakulehin’s remarkable life, which spans nine decades of service, cultural preservation, and exemplary leadership. “His Imperial Majesty’s reign has been a testament to the strength and resilience of our traditions,” Kamorudeen said. “As we celebrate his 90th birthday, we are reminded of his unwavering commitment to the development of Ibadanland and his role as a custodian of our cherished heritage.”

The Lagelu LG Chairman highlighted the Olubadan’s contributions to fostering peace and development in Oyo State, noting that his ascension to the throne in 2024 has ushered in a new era of harmony and progress. “Under Oba Olakulehin’s guidance, Ibadanland has continued to thrive as a center of culture, unity, and innovation,” he added. Kamorudeen also commended the monarch’s open-door policy, which has strengthened ties between the palace and communities across the region, including Lagelu Local Government.


In his message, the council Chairman prayed for the Olubadan’s continued sound health, wisdom, and strength to lead Ibadanland to greater heights. “May His Imperial Majesty’s reign be long, prosperous, and filled with divine blessings,” Kamorudeen said. “We join the people of Ibadanland, the Yoruba traditional institution, and admirers across the nation in celebrating this remarkable milestone.”
