The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has joined the people of Ibadanland and well-wishers across the country to celebrate the 90th birthday of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinloye Olalere Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a goodwill message released through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu, Hon. Olufade described the nonagenarian monarch as a “living treasure,” whose life and reign continue to serve as a beacon of unity, cultural pride, and traditional excellence for the people of Ibadan.
“On this remarkable occasion of Your Imperial Majesty’s 90th birthday, I, on behalf of the government and good people of Ibadan North Local Government, celebrate a life richly lived in the service of humanity and our cherished Ibadanland,” the statement read.
Hon. Olufade praised the monarch’s uncommon humility, deep wisdom, and fatherly leadership, which he said have helped strengthen harmony and mutual respect across all strata of the Ibadan traditional system.
“Your journey to the throne is a testimony to perseverance, honour, and unwavering commitment to the values that define our people.
Since ascending the throne, Your Majesty has continued to inspire us with your calm leadership and inclusive approach to tradition and governance,” he added.
While praying for God’s continued strength and sound health for the monarch, Hon. Olufade reaffirmed the unflinching loyalty of his administration to the Olubadan stool and pledged continued partnership in preserving the rich heritage of Ibadanland.
“As Kabiyesi clocks 90, we are not only celebrating his birthday but also the values he represents – peace, tradition, stability, and progress.
May your reign be long and prosperous, and may the land of Ibadan continue to flourish under your fatherly guidance,” Olufade stated.
The Chairman rounded off his message with a Yoruba blessing: “Igba odun, odun kan ni o, Kabiyesi!”
