Senator Abdulfatai Omotayo Buhari has extended his warm felicitations to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, as the revered monarch celebrates his 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his ascension to the throne.

The senator, who represents Oyo North Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), joined other dignitaries, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), and indigenes of Ibadanland in honouring the royal father.
Oba Olakulehin, born on July 5, 1935, was crowned the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on July 12, 2024. His reign, now one year old, has been widely described as peaceful and marked by dignity and wisdom.

In a statement released by his media office, Senator Buhari described the Olubadan as a symbol of royal grace and divine favour, noting the monarch’s exceptional health, sharp memory, and eloquence despite his advanced age.

“The Olubadan of Ibadanland symbolises royal grace and God’s exceptional mercy,” the senator said. “At 90, His Majesty remains mentally sharp and physically strong — a testament to divine blessing.”

Buhari commended the monarch for his leadership style, lauding his commitment to unity, peace, and community development across Ibadanland.
“His wisdom and fatherly approach have continued to mobilise and inspire his people. His reign has brought stability and fostered collective growth,” he added.

The senator prayed for continued health and longevity for the Olubadan, asking Allah to grant him more years of happiness and fruitful service to the people.
