In a meeting with Oyo State APC executives and 33 APC Local Government Chairmen at his private residence in Ibadan on Saturday, Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, made startling revelations about his political journey.
Adelabu disclosed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu directed him to join the Accord Party in 2023 to pursue his governorship aspirations.
He claimed to have heeded the directive and contested the governorship election under the Accord Party. According to Adelabu, after the 2023 elections, Tinubu made him a Minister and subsequently directed him to rejoin the APC.
“I am also going to meet with all my colleagues in National Assembly: the three senators, the nine House of Reps that we have.
But first, party is supreme. We need to let the party know the steps we are going to take before we start taking those steps. That is what today’s meeting is all about.”
Emphasising that reconciliation is about sacrifice, he said aggrieved members must be willing to compromise and shift grounds in order to achieve the greater goal of reclaiming the state from the PDP-led government.
