In celebration of his one-year anniversary in office, the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has commenced the official commissioning of five newly constructed Bridges across the local government area. The commissioning exercise began with the project at Ogbere Housing Estate, which was formally unveiled by the Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Abiodun Fadeyi.


A press statement released by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, noted that the commissioned culvert connects the Magistrate Court and the Local Inspector of Education Office. The project was completed in the last quarter of 2024 and stands out as one of over 50 developmental milestones achieved during Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS’ first 100 days in office.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chairman and Political Head of Inukan LCDA, Hon. Windapo Oluwole, commended community leaders and residents for their support throughout the duration of the project. He praised the Executive Chairman for demonstrating visionary leadership and a strong commitment to infrastructure development at the grassroots.

In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Fadeyi, described Dr. GLORIOUS as one of the most effective and strategic council chairmen in Oyo State. He applauded the collaborative relationship between the legislative and executive arms of government, which he said has contributed to Oyo State’s leading position in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) nationally. He pledged to continue supporting development initiatives across Ona Ara Local Government.


Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, while addressing attendees, reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining the development blueprint of his mentor and role model, Governor Seyi Makinde. He urged residents to remain patient and supportive, assuring them that his administration is working diligently to address their needs. He further disclosed that the Oyo State Government has approved the long-awaited reconstruction of the Odo Onigbese–Babanla Bridge, which is set to be completed within the next two months.

Speaking from a professional standpoint, Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Sanitarian Rashidat Popoola, emphasized the importance of the culvert project in preventing environmental hazards. She noted that such interventions are typically seen from global organizations like UNESCO and UNICEF, and lauded the local government’s initiative under Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS.
Representing the host community, Chief Mukaila Raji expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Chairman and his team for their responsiveness and developmental strides. He prayed for the continued success of Governor Makinde’s administration and the prosperity of Ona Ara.

Notable dignitaries at the commissioning included: SSA to Governor Makinde on SDGs, Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, Full-Time Commissioner, Oyo State Service Commission, Hon. Taiwo Oke, Leader of the Ona Ara Legislative Council, Hon. Femi Abolade (Yerima), PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare, PDP Leader, Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun, Hon. Taiwo Ibrahim, Alfa Kehinde Adeyemo, Supervisory Councillor and special assistants.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Tajudeen Mahruf, Councillor representing Ward 7, expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his dedication to service and also thanked all attendees for their solidarity and support.
