A wave of excitement and jubilation erupted across Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State yesterday as leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as key political stakeholders received generous Salah largesse in the spirit of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The distribution exercise, which took place over the past few days and concluded yesterday at the Idi-Ayunre Council Secretariat, June 4, saw various categories of beneficiaries—including ward leaders, women and youth leaders, party at both LG and ward executives, Muslim leaders and grassroots mobilizers, received cash gifts, food items, and rams, courtesy of the executive chairman of the LG, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji.

The gesture, which many party leaders and stakeholders described as timely and thoughtful, was targeted at supporting faithful Muslims during the festive period, while also strengthening party unity and deepening goodwill among supporters.

Addressing party faithful at one of the distribution centers in Idi-Ayunre, the Oluyole LG PDP chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola commended the executive chairman for ensuring that everything were in place before his trip to the holy land in Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

He stated that Oluyole LG has never had it going well and smooth like it is under the Olatunji led administration stressing that party leaders, excos at the local government and across the 10 wards have continued to enjoyed all forms of support since the inception of the present LG administration.

Describing Olatunji as a man who has shown exemptional leadership and dedication to the welfare of party leaders and faithful, Alhaji Adegbola said Olatunji could not have been different from governor Seyi Makinde, who he said made PDP the toast of the masses.

“This is not just about politics. It’s about Akeem Olatunji showing genuine care for our people and respecting party tradition, especially at the grassroots. The Salah period is a time for giving and reflection, and we are proud to share in the joy with our people,” Alhaji Adegbola said.

Several party and religious stakeholders expressed gratitude for the gesture, emphasizing that the PDP remains close to the people and attentive to their needs.

In their separate remarks, some party faithful who could not contain their joy said this kind of outreach shows that Asiwaju Olatunji is fully in touch with the grassroots and in charge of Oluyole LG.

While expressing appreciatios to the council boss, they affirmed that the Salah gifts have brought smiles to many families especially the financially challenged party faithful who are struggling to have a joyous celebration amid the national economic travail.
The meeting was chaired by Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government.

In attendance were party leaders from across LG, ward chairmen and executive members led by Alhaji Moruf Wike, women leaders across the council led by Mrs. Basirat Alao Kengbe, Youth leaders representing various wards, party faithful and stakeholders.
