Our Excellency, We Are Proud of You – Mayegun Babanumi Praises Gov Makinde on Sixth Year in Office

As Governor Seyi Makinde marks his sixth year in office, commendations continue to pour in from across Oyo State, with one of the latest coming from a prominent grassroots politician and House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency, Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi.

In a heartfelt statement issued on Thursday, Babanumi, who is also the initiator of the Sunday Olusegun Babanumi Initiative (SOBI), hailed Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the growth and transformation of Oyo State. He described the governor’s leadership as visionary, people-oriented, and deeply impactful.

“Your Excellency, we are proud of you. Your sixth anniversary in the office is not just a celebration of time, but of tangible progress. From improved infrastructure to reforms in education, health, and security, your tenure has brought hope and renewed confidence to the good people of Oyo State,” Babanumi said.

The House of Representatives hopeful further commended the governor’s ability to remain focused in the face of challenges, noting that his administration’s developmental strides have repositioned the state as a beacon of good governance in Nigeria.

“Your humility, accessibility, and results-driven governance have inspired a new generation of leaders. You have shown that leadership is about service, and that indeed, the welfare of the people must always come first,” he added.

Babanumi, known for his philanthropic and community development efforts through SOBI, reaffirmed his commitment to complementing the efforts of the Makinde administration by offering responsive and inclusive representation.
