As Governor Seyi Makinde marks six years in office, Hon. Olufunke Comforter, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, has extended warm congratulations to the governor, hailing him as the “true architect of modern Oyo State”.
Hon. Comforter praised Makinde’s vision and mission, which have catapulted Oyo State to unprecedented heights.
“His Excellency’s leadership has been a game-changer for Oyo State, and we are grateful for his tireless efforts to improve the lives of our people,” Hon. Comforter said. Some notable achievements of Gov. Makinde’s administration include:
Infrastructure Development: The governor has overseen the construction and rehabilitation of numerous roads, enhancing connectivity and facilitating trade within the state.
Economic Growth: Oyo State’s GDP has grown significantly reflecting effective governance and a conducive environment for investment.
The state has also become a magnet for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and large-scale industries.
Healthcare Improvements: The governor has upgraded healthcare facilities, including the Infectious Disease Centre and the Agbami Chest Clinic.
He has also established the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), providing affordable healthcare to thousands of residents.
Education: Gov. Makinde has prioritized education, initiating the conversion of the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education into a university of education, and championing youth empowerment through agribusiness, with over 3,300 youths trained.
Energy Sector: The governor’s administration has launched initiatives to improve the state’s energy landscape, including the Independent Power Project (IPP), guaranteeing a steady stream of electricity.
Women Empowerment: “His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde is one of the few State Leaders who’s begun implementing the 35% integration of the Female Demography into Governance, Beit in Elective or Appointed Positions, Women are thriving in Oyo State.
Women are not just appointed, they are trusted with top positions with the State Executive, legislature and Judiciary. To the female demography, we count this as a huge achievement for Gov. Seyi Makinde”, Hon. Comforter opined.
Hon. Comforter commended Gov. Makinde’s commitment to sustainable development, saying, “We pray that the Almighty God continues to bless and strengthen him to achieve greater feats during this Omituntun 2.0 agenda.
” She extended her congratulations on behalf of the inhabitants of Ibadan North Local Government and Oyo State at large.
