Saki, Oyo State — May 27, 2025

In celebration of this year’s Children’s Day, the lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki East State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honorable Saminu Rilwan Gbadamosi, has extended his heartfelt greetings to children across the state and the country, recognizing them as the cornerstone of the nation’s future.
In a statement released to commemorate the occasion, Hon. Gbadamosi, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Health, described children as “a priceless treasure whose well-being, education, and development must be at the core of governance and community action.”

Hon. Gbadamosi praised the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for its unwavering dedication to improving the lives of children through robust educational reforms and child-focused welfare policies.

“Under Governor Makinde’s leadership, Oyo State has witnessed unprecedented investment in child welfare and quality education. From free education policies to improved healthcare delivery, our children are now being given the opportunities they need to thrive,” he said.

He noted that initiatives such as the free distribution of learning materials, school feeding programs, and infrastructural upgrades in schools across the state have helped to significantly reduce the number of out-of-school children and improve learning outcomes.
Addressing the children directly, Hon. Gbadamosi urged them to remain focused on their studies and to stay committed to their personal growth and aspirations. He emphasized that the future of Nigeria depends on the values, education, and discipline instilled in today’s youth.

“Dear children, you are the leaders of tomorrow, and your future starts today. Be diligent in your studies, respectful to your elders, and committed to your dreams. The future of our nation lies in your hands, and we are counting on you,” he advised.
As Chairman of the House Committee on Health, Hon. Gbadamosi reiterated his commitment to advocating for stronger child healthcare systems across Oyo State. He assured constituents that the legislature would continue to push for policies and budgets that prioritize child nutrition, vaccination, mental health, and access to primary healthcare facilities.
“No child should be denied healthcare or education because of their background. We must continue to push for policies that give every child a fair chance at life,” he added.
Hon. Gbadamosi also called on parents, guardians, and community leaders to play active roles in raising children with sound morals, strong educational foundations, and a clear sense of responsibility.
As the state joins the rest of the country in celebrating Children’s Day, Hon. Saminu Rilwan Gbadamosi reaffirmed his dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all children in Atisbo/Saki East and beyond can reach their full potential.
