Oyo Lawmaker D-Al-Ameen Urges the Government on Public Orientation on Security
I presented report of the House Committee on Security and Strategy on its oversight visit to the office of the Executive Assistant on Security Matters, Oyo State Security Trust Fund and Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun).
In the report, I commended the Oyo State Government for its continued commitment to the security of lives and properties of the citizens through adequate and regular provision of logistics and support to the security operatives in the State.
The report noted that the constitution of the Board for Security Trust Fund in Oyo State became necessary to help in coordinating funds generated for the sustenance and maintenance of security in the State.
It also urged the State Ministry of Information and Orientation and the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS Ile Akede to commence the sensitisation of the public on the use of toll free line “615” meant for the reporting of crimes and other emergencies to the Government on time.
The Committee report further recommended an increase in the provisions and support for the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) especially in terms of weapons, maintenance of their vehicles and other logistics.
