All is now set for the much-anticipated Oyo Youth Summit 2025, scheduled to hold today, Wednesday, April 30th, at the prestigious International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan (Second Gate).
The summit, which will commence by 9:00 a.m., is expected to draw thousands of young people, thought leaders, policymakers, and development partners from across the state. With the theme, “Unlocking Youth Potential:
Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams,” the event aims to serve as a transformative platform to discuss youth-focused policies, development opportunities, and collaborative efforts to drive progress in Oyo State.
The summit is the brainchild of the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports, under the leadership of the Honorable Commissioner, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, and is supported by various government agencies, including the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development led by Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo.
Governor Seyi Makinde, the Chief Host, is expected to deliver a keynote message reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, education, innovation, and economic participation.
The keynote speaker for the day is Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson , Managing Director of BOVAS Group, a well-respected voice in entrepreneurship and social investment.
A rich program lineup includes a panel session featuring top youth stakeholders, public servants, and development experts who will address key issues affecting young people in the state.
The evening segment will host a special dinner and award night recognizing outstanding youth contributions to community development and leadership.
In a statement released ahead of the summit, the Oyo State PDP Youth Leader and Acting Publicity Secretary, Hon. Michael Ogunsina, reiterated the importance of the summit in aligning young people with the state’s progressive vision.
He urged youths to attend in large numbers and take full advantage of the networking, learning, and empowerment opportunities.
“All is set. This is more than an event—it is a turning point for the youth of Oyo State to take their rightful place in shaping the future,” said Prince Falana.
With the momentum built by a massive pre-summit drug awareness walk across the state, the Oyo Youth Summit promises to be a historic gathering of vision, voices, and values—solidifying Oyo’s status as the Pacesette State in youth inclusion and development.
