On April 25th, 2025, the Health Awareness Club of the department of Public Health, Iseyin College of Science and Health Technology marked the World Malaria Day with a targeted outreach program in Idi Iya Iseyin, successfully reaching over 50 individuals within the community. Comprehensive health talk covered malaria prevention, symptoms, treatment and management, with a focus to improve adherence to preventive strategies among the residents.

To avert health complications among potential victims, vital signs were taken and Malaria Rapid Diagnosis Tests (MRDT) were conducted for immediate results.
We also distributed malaria preventive toolkits including mosquito coils and provided guidance on their proper use to prevent mosquito bites and protect against malaria.
Individuals tested positive received referral notes for further check-up and management at primary healthcare centers or hospitals in our bid to support early treatment and mitigate life-threatening complications.

This outreach enhanced malaria awareness and prevention efforts in the Idi Iya community as participants gained valuable knowledge to protect themselves against malaria.

We appreciate everyone’s participation and commitment. We’ll continue working to combat malaria and promote general health.
