It is truly a big deal for me, as a citizen of Oyo State, to witness the remarkable work Governor Seyi Makinde has been doing since we elected him in 2019. His commitment to aggressive road construction and rehabilitation stands as a testament to his vision of building infrastructure that drives economic expansion.

Today, travel within Ibadan and beyond is faster and more convenient, thanks to the rapidly improving road networks. One cannot overlook the importance of projects like the Saki–Ogboro–Ighoho road, spanning Igbeti and surrounding communities. Governor Makinde is also delivering on his promise to construct the 102 km Igbeti–Ogbomoso road, pledging to complete it or hand it over in good standing to his successor. The revival of the Igbeti airstrip further highlights his dedication to transforming Oyo’s economy.

Makinde is a man who not only envisions great ideas but also pursues them with unmatched vigor. His decision to upgrade the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport to international status is a major breakthrough for Oyo State and the entire southern region. Businesses will no longer have to contend with the chaos of Lagos to connect internationally — a huge relief and an economic catalyst for our state.

The Moniya–Iseyin road has been completed, and work is ongoing on the Apata–Bembo–Olosun road — both notable milestones. The modern motor park system he introduced is not only modernizing transportation but has also become a significant source of internal revenue for the state. Projects like the Omi–Ido road (expected to extend to Eruwa) and the completed Iseyin–Ogbomoso road are clear examples of leadership that listens and responds to the people’s needs.

Beyond infrastructure, Governor Makinde’s administration is creating mass employment opportunities, injecting life into the economy, and improving countless households. His strategic investment in agribusiness is paying off, positioning Oyo State as a pioneer in food security and placing us on the global map for agricultural innovation.

The deliberate effort to urbanize Ibadan through an extensive road network is appreciated. However, I must appeal that similar attention be given to the rehabilitation of our community and inner roads — where people live, raise families, and run small businesses. Empowering the local governments to handle these roads would be a smart and sustainable solution.

I would also humbly urge Governor Makinde to make unannounced visits to our state hospitals. A firsthand look would reveal the urgent need for renewed investment in health facilities to match his successes elsewhere.

With all that I know — and this is only a fraction of the projects he is undertaking — I can say with full confidence that if Governor Makinde decides to contest for the presidency, he already has my support and endorsement. Visionary leaders like him are exactly what Nigeria needs.
