In a colorful display of cultural heritage and community spirit, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Olusola Ayodele Adeleke led members of his cabinet on a remarkable visit to the twin communities of Igboora and Idere as part of the 2025 Egungun Festival celebrations.

The festival deeply rooted in Yoruba tradition brought life and color to the streets as residents trooped out in large numbers to welcome their chairman with warmth, music and traditional displays. It was a day filled with pride, prayers and ancestral honor.

In Igboora, Hon. Adeleke was received at the historic Alagba Compound where prayers and blessings were offered to him by community elders in appreciation of his impactful leadership.

The celebration extended to Idere, where the town wore a festive look to welcome the Chairman. The Alapini of Idere led the reception, and the air was charged with excitement and cultural richness as traditional rites and prayers were again offered to Hon. Adeleke and his entourage.

In his message made available by his personal assistant Azeez Sodiq Adesina while addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Hon. Adeleke expressed gratitude for the overwhelming show of love and solidarity. He emphasized his commitment to preserving cultural heritage, promoting unity and ensuring inclusive governance that reflects the values of the people. He reaffirmed that his administration will continue to support traditional institutions and harness cultural festivals as tools for community development and tourism promotion.

The 2025 Egungun Festival marks yet another moment where leadership and tradition converge reminding the good people of Ibarapa Central that their roots are a foundation for collective progress.
