Nine days after Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), public opinion has continued to pour in from across Oyo State in response to his “Solutions 2027: A Journey to Agodi Government House.”

The declaration, widely publicized through digital platforms has sparked robust discussions in political, youth, academic, and economy circles.

Below are highlights of the sentiments gathered:

“Oloye Adegoke’s declaration comes as a breath of fresh air.

His message connects with us the youth. We need leaders who not only talk about the future but have the capacity to deliver it.

Solutions 2027 is giving us hope again,” Seun Ajibade from Ibadan North

“We are tired of empty promises. This man, Adegoke, has been helping people quietly for years.

If he says he wants to serve, I believe he means it.

The PDP should give him a chance.

Let someone with sense and heart like Gov. Seyi Makinde lead,” Safinu Aminat from Sabo, Akinyele.

“From what I’ve seen, Oloye Adegoke understands the issues. His focus on education reform and the local economy is timely.

He doesn’t look like a typical politician. If the PDP is serious, this is their best bet for 2027,” a lecturer who loves to be autonomous.

“He looks like a technocrat with a plan. Not just another party man.

His declaration was detailed and full of ideas, not the usual slogans.

Let’s see if he keeps the momentum, ” Tolu Fawole, student.

“I have seen many things about the man on social media .

The man seems to be good. But he needs more visits to the grassroots, make us see am for real. If him feet do that, na him be our next governor be that,” Dauda Yusuf, Artisan.

“We welcome his ambition, but he must not forget the people in rural areas.

His declaration touched on agriculture that’s good. But he must follow it up with practical engagement,” Ngozi Chukwuemeka, Igbo from Ibadan SouthWest.

“We have followed his work with widows and market women. He’s not new to helping people.

PDP should rally behind someone with character and compassion like Adegoke,” market woman from Oke-Ogun.

ANALYSIS:

Across the board, Oloye Adegoke’s declaration appears to be resonating strongly, especially among young professionals, market women, and grassroots political leaders.

Many respondents view his background as a technocrat, philanthropist, and community figure as assets that set him apart from other potential aspirants.

Political analysts believe that if sustained, the Solutions 2027 campaign could re-energize the PDP base and attract new voters whereas being a good successor for Governor Seyi Makinde, especially if Adegoke maintains a strong presence on both digital platforms and physical outreach.

As internal consultations begin ahead of 2027, Oloye Adegboyega Adegoke is emerging as a formidable candidate whose campaign is already shaping the narrative of issue-based politics in Oyo State.
