The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has called on the Christian faithful to use the Easter season as an opportunity to offer prayers for lasting peace, unity, and the progress of Ona Ara Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
In his Easter goodwill message, issued through his Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to newsmen on Sunday, Dr. GLORIOUS emphasized the importance of reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and embracing the core values He stood for.
He noted that, “This Easter period is a time to remember the power of God’s love and the promise of eternal life. It is also a season of hope, renewal, and new beginnings.”
While describing Easter as a reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest moments, the Ona Ara Council Chairman urged Christians to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the redemption of mankind and rose again after three days—symbolizing victory, love, and peace.
“Let us follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ who preaches peace, love, and unity. Let us extend these values in our daily lives, in our communities, and across religious boundaries,” he said.
Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS further stressed the importance of interfaith harmony, urging Christians to love and respect people of other faiths, adding that meaningful development can only take place in an environment of peace and mutual understanding.
He wished all Christians a joyful and spiritually rewarding Easter celebration.
