A Professor of Pediatrics and Neonatology specialist, Prof. Adejumoke Ayede has paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, at his office in the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The purpose of the visit was to pledge more support and collaboration with the state government to improve qualitative healthcare services for the people of Oyo State.

Prof. Ayede stated that she has been a stakeholder and supporter of Oyo State Hospitals since 2003, particularly in providing equipment for hospitals, especially maternal and newborn baby units.

She added that part of her work involved providing equipment for the maternal and newborn baby unit at State Hospital, Oyo, where 12 beds were made available for newborn babies and their mothers for treatment.

Prof. Ayede pledged to establish a more robust and cordial relationship with OYSHMB to improve maternal and child healthcare services in the state.

She also revealed plans to adopt State Hospital, Oyo, as part of her project after retiring from active service.

In remarks, The Chairman Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi appreciated Prof. Ayede for her unwavering support to the state government.

He highlighted some of the state government’s achievements for health workers, including: Payment of salaries as at when due, Recruitment of health workers into various cadres, Payment of minimum wage, as approved by the Federal Government Approval of promotion of workers up to date.

Dr. Fagbemi also mentioned that five facilities within the state have been approved as semi-autonomous hospitals to finance some projects.

He urged Prof. Ayede for more support and better collaboration to advance the hospitals and health sector.

Dr. Fagbemi promised that OYSHMB would ensure a good working environment for her projects.
