Oyo State is in mourning following the passing of two prominent figures, Chief Yekini Adeojo and Pa Victor Omololu Olunloyo, within the span of three days.

Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, has expressed deep sorrow over the losses, describing them as a “great loss to Oyo State.”

Chief Yekini Adeojo, a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and the South West region, passed away on Friday. His contributions to the political landscape of the state were immense, leaving behind a lasting legacy.

Just two days later, on Sunday, the state was once again plunged into grief with the passing of Pa Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former Governor of Oyo State.

Pa Olunloyo’s tenure and his contributions to the development of the state have been widely acknowledged.

Oloye Adegoke, who is also the Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM, Ibadan, in his statement, conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde, the people of Oyo State, and the bereaved families of both Chief Adeojo and Pa Olunloyo.

He emphasized the significant impact both men had on the state and their contributions to its political and developmental history.

“These are indeed trying times for Oyo State,” Oloye Adegoke stated.

“The loss of Chief Adeojo and Pa Olunloyo within such a short period is a profound blow.

Their contributions to our state’s political and developmental trajectory will forever be remembered.

We share in the grief of their families and the entire people of Oyo State.”

“May Almighty God grant us all the strength to bear the loss of these two great men, and may His grace continue to be with their families,” he concluded.
