The Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Yekini Adeojo, describing his death as a monumental loss to Oyo State, Ibadanland, and Nigeria at large.

In a condolence message made available to newsmen on Friday, Chief Sanusi described the late Adeojo as a quintessential statesman, a pillar of democracy, and a respected traditional and religious leader who left indelible marks in public service and nation-building.
According to the Ilaji boss, “Chief Yekini Adeojo was not only a political icon but a father figure, a bridge-builder, and one of the few remaining elders whose counsel continued to shape the political, traditional, and religious equilibrium of our state. His contributions to the growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the development of Ibadanland are immeasurable.”

Chief Sanusi commiserated with the Adeojo family, the people of Ido Local Government, the PDP family, and the entire Ibadanland, urging them to take solace in the impactful and purposeful life the late elder statesman lived.

He particularly sympathized with Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, praying that God grants him and the family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

“Indeed, this is a huge loss. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaus,” Chief Sanusi added.
Chief Yekini Adeojo, who until his death held the title of Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland, was a former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one of the founding fathers of the party in Oyo State.
He passed away on Friday morning in Ibadan.
