Honourable Kehinde Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the passing of Chief Yekini Adeojo. Chief Adeojo was a renowned figure in Oyo State, and his demise has left a void in the community.

Honourable Akande described Chief Adeojo as father, a pillar of strength and a champion of development in Oyo State. He praised Chief Adeojo’s contributions to the state’s growth and development, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.

Chief Yekini Adeojọ passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025. As the first gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, and mentor to Governor Seyi Makinde, Chief Adeojọ played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s and nation’s political landscape.

Beyond politics, Chief Adeojọ was a distinguished religious leader, serving as the Seriki Adinni of Yoruba Muslims, where he promoted peace, unity, and religious harmony. His influence extended to philanthropy, community development, and the empowerment of numerous individuals. Chief Adejọ’s remarkable life and legacy have left an indelible mark on Oyo State and Nigeria.

Chief Adeojo’s passing is a significant loss to the people of Oyo State, and Honourable Akande’s condolences reflect the widespread admiration and respect for the late chief.

He noted that the legacy of Chief Yekini Adeojo will continue to inspire generations to come, and Honourable Kehinde Akande’s tribute is a testament to the enduring impact of his life and work.
