As the Christian community begins the Lenten season on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Hon Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji, Oyo State Director-General, Liaison Office for Abuja and Lagos, has urged Nigerians to pray fervently for the nation’s growth, development, progress, and economic prosperity.

In a statement signed and made available to newsmen, OTOPE described the Lenten season as a period of spiritual reflection, renewal, and supplication, emphasizing the need for collective prayers to address the nation’s challenges.

“During this sacred period, I implore all Christians and indeed, all Nigerians, to join hands in prayer for our beloved nation,” OTOPE said. “We must pray for divine guidance, wisdom, and protection for our leaders, particularly Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his administration, as well as for peace, unity, and prosperity to reign supreme in our land.”

OTOPE emphasized that the prayers should focus on the essential demands of improving the quality of life and overall welfare of all Nigerians, stressing that this can only be achieved through collective supplication and a genuine commitment to national development.

“We pray that God Almighty grants Governor Makinde and his administration wisdom, courage, and compassion as they serve the people of Oyo State,” OTOPE added. “May their decisions be guided by justice, equity, and the common good, and may they enjoy divine protection and guidance in all their endeavors.”

OTOPE concluded by calling on all Nigerians to join in the national prayers, regardless of their religious affiliations, and to work together towards a brighter future for the nation.
