As the moon is sighted, signaling the commencement of Ramadan, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government and also the Aare akeweje adiini of Oyo State, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (aka “O mu Yes”) extends warm felicitations to Muslims in Ibadan North East Local Government.

In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, the Chairman thanks God for the opportunity to witness another Ramadan, describing it as “a period of submission, devotion, and humility.”

Akintayo while extending warm greetings to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde; the Chief Imam, League of Imams and Religious Fathers of Ibadan North East Local Government on the commencement of Ramadan 2025 prays that this sacred month bring blessings, peace, and joy to our community.

The Chairman emphasizes that Allah has made it compulsory for Muslims to observe Ramadan, as long as they are physically healthy and old enough to do so adding that ramadan offers Muslims a unique opportunity to rekindle their faith, seek forgiveness, and strengthen their bond with Allah.

Hon Akintayo urges Muslims to use the sacred month of Ramadan to pray for the betterment of Ibadan North East Local Government and Oyo State as a whole and encourages the Muslim community to embrace the values of compassion, kindness, and generosity that define the spirit of Ramadan emphasizing that during this month, Muslims are expected to demonstrate increased commitment to their faith, and extend kindness and charity to those in need.

The Council Boss acknowledges the significant role that Ramadan plays in fostering unity, discipline, and self-reflection among Muslims, and encourages the community to make the most of this blessed month.

The Chairman further encourages Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Hadith, and to shun all forms of violence, extremism, and social vices. He emphasizes the importance of peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths and backgrounds, and urges Muslims to be good ambassadors of their faith.

Conclusively, as the Muslim community in Ibadan North East Local Government begins this sacred journey, Hon. Akintayo wishes them a blessed and rewarding Ramadan, filled with spiritual growth, peace, and joy.

He prays that Allah accepts their fast, supplications, and good deeds, and that the blessings of Ramadan extend beyond the month to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness to all.
