… A Significant Step Towards Advancing Healthcare Education, Services

The leadership of Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board led by the chairman of the board Dr Akin Fagbemi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with the management of the MacPherson University on student internship, industrial training and staff capacity development programme to enhance and increase workers productivity in the state.

In his address,The chairman of OYSHMB,Dr Akin Fagbemi highlighted the services of the board which cut across the 40 State and General hospitals within Oyo state and which comprises 4 State hospitals and 36 General hospitals includes consultancy services,internship and industrial training programmes.

The chairman said the signing of MOU between the board and the institution will bring a robust collaboration that will be of immense benefit for both parties.

He promised the institution that they should be rest assured that the students coming for I.T or Internship programmes are on safe hand and are coming to meet with professionals in their various field.

Dr Fagbemi also advised MacPherson University to include some courses which are relatively scarce on institutions curriculum in their next session, stressed that some of the courses mentioned are Biomedical Engineering services and Hospital Administration.

He therefore eulogised his excelllency Engr Oluseyi Makinde FNSE for implementing the new minimum wage sign into law by the Federal Government to reduced hardship caused by he removal of fuel subsidy.

In his remarks, The Vice Chancellor MacPherson University Professor Francis Igbasan said he was very grateful for the opportunity giving to the students of the institution on internship programme and industrial training to learn more from the wealth of experience of workers from different cadres in the board.

He stressed further that the institution runs full time programmes in all their courses but because of the working class among the students, the institution organised a flexible arrangement to accommodate the schedule for the working class.

Prof. Igbasan also praises his excelllency Engr Oluseyi Makinde FNSE for the good job he has been doing in the state especially in the area of providing good and qualitative health care services to the citizen of the state under sustainable health care delivery tagged Omi-Tuntun 2.0.

He therefore promised that the institution will look into some areas pointed out by the board chairman and work on them.

In her remarks, Oyo State Hospital Management Board (OYSHMB) Dr. Anifat Ibraheem congratulate the institution for picking the board as training ground for both internship students and industrial training programmes.

She reassured the institution that the board will take good care of their students by imparting more knowledge into them for the benefit of the society.

The signing of the MOU was done by the chairman of the board Dr Akin Fagbemi,the Permanent Secretary Dr Anifat Ibraheem while all other director witnessed the signing of the paper.

Prof. Francis Igbasan also sign on behalf of the MacPherson University while Dr Adewale Oke the acting HOD of Medical Laboratory Science and Mr Femi Adebowale also witnessed the signing.
