The Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Governor Seyi Makinde’s beloved brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde, who was 65 years old, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. Honourable Akande,
Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, has extended her heartfelt condolences to the Governor and his family during this difficult time.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of the Governor’s brother,” said Honourable Adegoke. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Governor, his family, and loved ones. May they find strength and comfort in the fond memories they shared with their dear brother.”
The Commissioner described the late brother as a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. “His passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but we take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched,” she added.
Honourable Adegoke, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, prayed for the repose of the soul of the Governor’s brother and asked God to grant the Governor and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Commissioner also called on the good people of Oyo State to join her in extending their condolences to the Governor and his family.
“Let us come together to support our Governor during this difficult time,” she said. “May we all find comfort in the knowledge that we are not alone in our grief, and that the Governor and his family are surrounded by love and support.”
As the people of Oyo State mourn the loss of the Governor’s brother, they also celebrate his life and legacy. May his memory continue to inspire and motivate others to make a positive impact in their communities.
