Chief Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, born on February 4, 1964, to Olooye Sakariyau Adebayo Adigun Adegoke and Deaconess Florence Alaba Aweni Adegoke, is a distinguished Ibadan chief and the Aare-Onibon Balogun of Ibadanland.

He also serves as the Mogaji of the Abose family in Oke Gege, Ibadan.

Educational Background and Professional Qualifications

Adegoke earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 1992.

He later obtained an MBA from ITTL-DRC & University, Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and an alumnus of the Advanced Leadership Programme at the University of Cambridge Business School.

Career in Oil and Gas

With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Adegoke has held pivotal roles.

He trained with Deloitte & Touche before becoming Head of Accounts & Operations at First City Group.

He later joined Schlumberger Oilfield Services, where he held several leadership positions, including Financial Controller and Group Treasurer for the Gulf of Guinea region.

In November 2010, he became Chief Financial Officer at Oando Energy Services Limited and subsequently an Executive Director at OES Energy Services Limited.

Political Involvement

Chief Adegoke’s political journey has seen him active in Oyo State politics, initially with the Accord Party before joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In September 2020, he announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, recent developments indicate his return to the PDP, where he was warmly welcomed by Hon. Kehinde Adeyemi Akande, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, who lauded Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and efforts in strengthening the party.

Future Political Intentions

As of January 2025, Chief Adegoke has not made any public declaration regarding his potential candidacy for the 2027 gubernatorial elections in Oyo State.

Nevertheless, his return to the PDP and his active engagement in community development indicate a continued dedication to the progress of the state.
