In a remarkable display of commitment and loyalty to their party and community, political officials who served under the Omituntun 1.0 administration in Lagelu Local Government have donated a sum of N3.5 million to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagelu.

The donation was made from the severance benefits recently paid by the Oyo State government.

This generous gesture was led by the immediate past vice chairman of Lagelu, Hon. Biodun Badmus and the immediate past leader of Lagelu legislative arm, Hon. Kabir Alasalu alongside the current executive chairman of the local government area, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen.

The gesture reflects the past officials’ gratitude for the opportunity to serve their people under the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. The donation aims to strengthen the PDP’s grassroots initiatives and further contribute to the party’s growth in the local government.

Hon. Biodun Badmus and Kabir Alasalu, while speaking on behalf of the Omituntun 1.0 political officials, praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his transformative leadership, which has brought significant development to Oyo State. The duo highlighted the governor’s people-centered governance and his support for officials at the local government level, which enabled them to deliver on their mandates during their time in office.

“We are immensely grateful to Governor Seyi Makinde for the trust and opportunity to serve our people. His visionary leadership has been a source of inspiration, and we are committed to ensuring that the progress made during Omituntun 1.0 is sustained and expanded upon. This donation is a token of our appreciation and our way of giving back to the PDP, the party that has allowed us to serve and uplift our communities,” they remarked.

The donation comes at a critical time, as the Lagelu PDP continues to prepare for upcoming elections and party activities aimed at deepening its reach within the local communities. The N3.5 million donation is expected to support various party initiatives, including empowerment programs and grassroots mobilization efforts, which have been the hallmark of the PDP’s success in the region.

Governor Makinde’s administration has been widely praised for its inclusive and developmental approach, fostering a strong relationship between the state and local governments. The severance payment received by the Omituntun 1.0 political officials is seen as a reward for their dedicated service, and their decision to reinvest it in the party is a testament to their loyalty and belief in the PDP’s vision for a prosperous Oyo State.

The officials also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the current administration, under the leadership of Governor Makinde, to ensure that the gains made during Omituntun 1.0 are built upon, particularly in areas such as infrastructure development, education, and security in Lagelu Local Government.

The people of Lagelu, as well as party members, have expressed appreciation for the officials’ gesture, seeing it as a reflection of their dedication to both governance and party unity.

With this act of generosity, the political officials of Omituntun 1.0 have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to the values of service, leadership, and community development. The Lagelu PDP remains poised to continue its efforts towards ensuring that the legacy of good governance in Oyo State is sustained and further entrenched in the hearts of the people.
