Oyo State governor Engr. Seyi Makinde has insisted that the culprits behind the stampede in Islamic High School on December 18 that claimed 35 lives must face court trials and be punished if found guilty.

The Governor’s Statement
Governor Makinde stated this at the Oyo State Civil Service Annual Inter-Faith Service to usher in the New Year 2025, held at the Oyo State Governor’s Office, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde also assured the people of the state that the present government would find out the hide-out of any terrorist group that might want to make the state their base and deal with them accordingly.

Meanwhile, in another development, Governor Seyi Makinde has promised to have a meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners this week to review the minimum wage and align with the state NUP that will benefit the system and the workers in the state.

He further reiterated that the state will continue to follow the rule of law, even when people are not ready to follow the rule of law.
