Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, the Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, has called for unity and strengthened collaboration among leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ona Ara Local Government. This appeal was made during the party’s first general meeting, held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Elekuro High School, Owode, Ibadan.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Dr. GLORIOUS emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure the continued success and development of the party at all levels.
During the well-attended meeting, the Chairman presented his administration’s scorecard, highlighting achievements in less than six months in office. He detailed progress made in critical areas, including:
Works, Housing & Infrastructure: Implementation of road projects, Construction of Boreholes, Reconstruction of Magistrate Court and Local Education Office, construction of bridges, dredging of rivers across the Local Government among others.
Agriculture & Social Development: Support for local farmers and social welfare initiatives.
Community Development: Execution of grassroots projects for community growth.
Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation: Empowerment programs for women and poverty reduction initiatives.
Education: Investments in schools and student-focused programs, Distribution of writing Materials to schools.
Environmental & Waste Management: Improved sanitation and waste management strategies, Declared every Thursday Environmental Day.
Dr. GLORIOUS also disclosed his consistent financial support for party welfare, having sent assistance to all wards on five occasions through the Local Government Party Chairman to the Ward Chairmen. He concluded by announcing the commencement of grading of roads in Ona Ara since Friday.
The event was graced by key stakeholders, including the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Windapo Oluwole; First Lady, Deaconess Oluwabunmi Kolapo; Legislative House Leader, Hon. Abolade Yerima; Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Sunmonu Babatunde; Chief of Staff, Hon. Isiaka Arinola; and other political functionaries.
Notable party leaders in attendance included Hon. Mosobalaje Bakare, the PDP Local Government Chairman; Hon. Mufutau Ogunremi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDG Matters; Hon. Taiwo Oke, Full-Time Commissioner at the Local Government Service Commission; Chief Waheed Ajao Adurodekun; Alfa Kehinde; Hon. Taiwo Ibrahim; Baba Banji Oyadiran; and Baba Rasaki Badeku, among others.
Dr. GLORIOUS reiterated his commitment to fostering unity within the PDP and ensuring that the Ona Ara Local Government remains a model of good governance and party harmony.
