In a surprise move, Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has declared his willingness to become Nigeria’s Vice President in the future.
However, Obi has set certain conditions that must be met before he considers taking on the role. In a recent interview on News Central TV, he stated that his primary goal is to contribute to Nigeria’s progress and ensure that the country moves forward.
Obi emphasized that he is not desperate to be President but is eager to see Nigeria thrive. He expressed his willingness to work with others who share his vision, but made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the Labour Party.
The former Anambra State Governor finished third in the 2023 presidential election with over 6 million votes, accounting for 25.4% of the total votes cast.
Obi’s conditions for becoming Vice President include working with individuals who share his commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind and putting millions of out-of-school children back in school. He also emphasized the need for strong leadership to bring positive change in the 2027 general election.
