The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , State Secretary , Hon Wasiu Adeleke has reiterated the commitment of the party to the welfare of the people of the pacesetter state.

Hon Wasiu Adeleke stated this during a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige.

The state secretary in his speech formally congratulated Hon Akeem Ademola Ige on his appointment as the chairman of Local Government Staff Pension Board. Describing him as a round peg in a round hole based on his vast experiences. “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate you, my brother Hon Akeem Ademola Ige on your appointment and I pray that Almighty Allah will be with you and grant you wisdom to succeed in this office.” He said .

He acknowledged the massive support and votes of people of the state especially pensioners in the second term election victory of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde. ” pensioners voted massively for PDP in the last general election due to the good deeds of our amiable governor since he assumed office in 2019 till date. ” Our governor is a man of the people and he has been embarking on unprecedented projects and programmes that are beneficial to all and sundry including pensioners in the state.”

He then solicited for the continued support of the people to the PDP led administration in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy beyond 2027.

In his welcome address, the chairman, Local Government Staff Pension Board , Hon Akeem Ademola Ige expressed gratitude to the state secretary for the visit and used the occasion to highlight some of the achievements of the present administration under the leadership of Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde in terms of pensioners’ welfare which include payment of backlog of gratuity, regular payment of monthly pension on the 25th of every month, increase in the monthly payment from Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira ( #250m) to Five Hundred Million Naira (#500m), payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (#15,000) wage award.

Others are sensitization training programme for prospective retirees of both primary school teachers and local government staff in all geo political zones, refund of OYSHIA deducted enrolment fee to all pensioners, reinstatement and payment of accrued arrears of all pensioners that missed various ” I AM ALIVE SCREENING EXERCISES “, Ten Thousand Naira (#10,000) Christmas bonus and many more.

Hon Akeem Ademola Ige then said pensioners always express gratitude to the governor for various pensioners’ welfare packages being enjoyed since assumption of office in May 2019 till date.

The Chairman also used the occasion to inform the state PDP Secretary that pensioners are now praying for a good man like Seyi Makinde to succeed him in 2027 in order for them to continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
