It was an entertaining encounter in Benin on Saturday as Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) battled to a 1-1 draw in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash.

The Oluyole Warriors got off to a bright start when Ayodele Ismail found the back of the net in the 5th minute, giving 3SC an early lead and sending their travelling fans into celebration.

Bendel Insurance, however, responded quickly. Just eight minutes later, the hosts restored parity with a well-taken goal in the 13th minute, setting the tone for an intense contest.

Despite 3SC’s relentless push for a winner, Bendel Insurance’s goalkeeper put up a brilliant performance, denying the visitors on several occasions and ensuring his side held firm until the final whistle.

The match ended 1-1, with Shooting Stars securing a valuable away point from a tough opponent.

Post-Match Remarks

Chairman of Shooting Stars, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, commended the team for their spirited performance and also extended gratitude to Bendel Insurance for the warm reception.

“As we return to Ibadan, we do so with confidence and a clear focus on the tasks ahead,” he said. He also wished the supporters who travelled to Benin a safe journey back home.
