Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State – July 9, 2025

As the new football season draws near, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) continued its pre-season buildup with a friendly match against GrassRunners FC of Ikenne. The encounter, held this morning at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode, ended in a 1-0 victory for the Oluyole Warriors.
The closely contested fixture provided another opportunity for the coaching crew to assess player fitness, team chemistry, and tactical readiness ahead of the upcoming season. The lone goal in the match showcased the team’s growing cohesion and focus during pre-season drills.

Reacting to the result, the Chairman of 3SC, Hon. Taiwo Lekan Salami, expressed his appreciation to the players and technical crew for their performance and commitment so far. He lauded the team’s fighting spirit, noting that the win—though in a test match—was a positive indicator of progress.

“I want to sincerely commend our players and coaching staff for the efforts they’ve shown. It’s encouraging to see that the team is beginning to gel and take every opportunity seriously. This victory, though a friendly, reflects the result of our hard work and determination,” Hon. Salami stated.

He, however, charged the team not to rest on their oars. With the season fast approaching, he emphasized the need for increased intensity and consistency in training and matches.
“The real task begins soon. We must continue to work harder, be more united, and remain disciplined. Our fans are expecting a great season, and we owe it to them to be at our very best,” he added.

Hon. Salami also used the opportunity to reiterate the management’s commitment to supporting the team with the resources and environment necessary for success, while calling on supporters to remain steadfast in their backing of the club.
