The Honourable Member representing Atisbo/Saki East State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Saminu Rilwan Gbadamosi, popularly known as Wale Canada, has joined millions around the world in celebrating the 2025 International Workers’ Day, commending the dedication and resilience of workers across Oyo State.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on May 1st, 2025, Hon. Wale Canada praised workers for their continued service and commitment in the face of national economic challenges, including subsidy removal, inflation, and insecurity.
“Our workers are the silent heroes of our society. They wake up every day and give their best, keeping our institutions and economy running, often without the recognition they truly deserve. Today, we honour their sacrifices,” he said.

He also lauded the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing his administration as one of the most worker-friendly in Nigeria’s democratic history. He highlighted prompt salary payments, pension reforms, and improved working conditions as evidence of the governor’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants and labourers in the state.

“Governor Makinde’s inclusive governance style has consistently placed workers at the centre of policy. As representatives of the people, we are proud to work alongside such a visionary leader,” Hon. Wale Canada added.

He urged workers in Atisbo/Saki East and the entire state to continue supporting the present administration in its quest for sustainable development, peace, and economic stability.
“As we celebrate this year’s May Day, let us all be reminded that our collective progress depends on the strength, unity, and dedication of our workforce,” he concluded.
