15-Year-Old Jumoke Sunday Set to Launch Debut Novel in Ibadan*

Diary Complicated, a captivating novel written by talented Jumoke Abasifreke Sunday, is set to be launched on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Lead City International School (Functions Hall), Jericho GRA, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

Jumoke is a 15-year-old writer with a passion for storytelling that captures the real emotions of teenage life.

“Diary Complicated: New School Dilemma” marks the inaugural book in her series, drawing inspiration from the complexities of friendship, transformation and self-discovery.

According to Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the Diary Complicated Book Launch, the momentous occasion will bring together dignitaries from diverse backgrounds. The ceremony will be chaired by the illustrious Ibarapa-born industrialist, who is the lead consultant at Folawale Service Consult, Hon. (Rtn) Tokunbo Adewale Toriola.

A stellar lineup of influential personalities expected to attend the book launch include Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, Federal Lawmaker representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency; Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly; Hon. (Chief) Obafemi Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters; Hon. (Alhaja) Wasilat Adegoke, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports; Hon. Sola Adeleke, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government; Hon. (Alh) Lateef Adebare Akorede, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government; Mr. Dominic Akinjide Fagbemi, Chairman of Dominic Akinjide Fagbemi Foundation; Hon. David Olusegun Okanlawon, CEO of Luli Construction Limited and Accord Party House of Representatives candidate, among others.

The Planning Committee Chairman, who also spoke on behalf of the author’s parents, disclosed that the event will serve as a platform to mentor and guide younger members of society while celebrating talents and motivating teenagers like Jumoke through the insights of renowned motivational speaker Hon. Seun Fakorede, former Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

Mr. Olaoniye also called on everyone within Ibadan to be part of the official book launch at the Lead City International School this Saturday.
